Cupronickel bronze is a very specialist alloy mainly aiming its market towards to marine, architectural and defence industry. This is due to its high tensile strength and corrosion resistant properties.
Cupronickel bronze comes in two chemical compositions. 90/10 and 70/30. This relates to the copper and nickel content. 90/10 cupronickel is made up of 90% copper and 10% nickel. This alloy is also made up of other important materials such as Iron and manganese which offers additional strength and rigidity along with a high ductility.

The most popular specified grades in Europe are C70600, CN102 and CW352 and are widely used to handle sea water during use with heat exchangers, petrochemical and ship building.
Cupronickel is also very highly regarded in the hygiene and health care industry due to its antibacterial properties. Cupronickel boasts killing 99.9% of viruses such as MRSA, and E.Coli within 2 hours.
